Bulid profitable blog following simple rule

How to Start a Profitable Blog with One Simple Rule

The majority of new bloggers online will never actually build a profitable blog. And it is not because they don’t want to or because they “can’t”.

There is one simple reason to why most new bloggers online will never really make it.

That reason is; most new bloggers online fail to follow one simple rule.

Here is what you will learn today

I’m going to tell you what this simple rule is.

How you can use this simple concept to increase the traffic to your blog in a matter of days – and finally be able to build a profitable blog online.

There is ONE Rule, one simple concept that you are probably not implementing – to take your blog to success online.

If you have not been getting the results you are looking for with your blog, you are most likely not implementing this one simple rule.

Let me take a good guess here and tell you the way you might be blogging online right now (let me know if you can relate to this in a comment below).

You are publishing new blog posts on your blog 3 to 5 times per week. And you were taught that you should be “Blogging Daily”, in order to build up the traffic flow.

You spend most of your time online – creating new content for your blog. And whatever little time you have left (to build your blog online) you spend it promoting your blog.

Am I guessing right?

I used to be that type of new blogger myself.

Back when I first got started with blogging (late 2010) I learned from a few “blogging gurus” that you should be blogging on a daily basis and that you should publish as much valuable content as possible.

I thought that was the best and fastest way to build a successful blog online.

Now, this concept used to be a great way to build a profitable blog when blogging was just starting to get popular, and when Google was on the rise to become the number one search engine online.

Today, it would take you a very long time to build a successful blog online following that old concept.

I’m not saying that publishing a new valuable blog post on your own blog – every single day – does not work anymore.

What I’m saying is that it is not the best way to do it.

I’m assuming that you want to be able to build a profitable blog online as soon as possible. Right?

Of course you do!

Every new blogger does.

There is one simple rule that can help you accomplish your blogging goals as soon as possible.

The 80/20 Rule

The secret to generating profitable blog traffic

This is where you will spend 20% of your time creating high quality content for your own blog – and 80% of your time promoting the heck out of that content.

You see, most new bloggers online are doing the opposite of this.

They are doing more content creation for their main blog and very little promotion.

You need to flip it around!

Promote more and publish less.

There are many successful bloggers online who built their blogs following this simple 80/20 rule and only published from 2 to 4 blog posts a month.

One great example of this concept is Derek Halpern from Socialtriggers.com. On this post, he talks about the 80/20 rule and how he used it to build his blog’s subscribers to 27,000 in about one year.

Isn’t that amazing?

Once I learned about this simple concept (the 80/20 rule) my entire blogging schedule changed.

I used to worry so much about creating new fresh content to be published on my internet marketing blog every single week.

Worrying too much about publishing new content every week took a lot of my energy away – energy that could have been spent PROMOTING.

If you have created an EPIC Blog post packed with unique value, you should set a goal to have at least 1,000 people read it – and not publish another blog post until you hit that goal.

Here is the thing; if a few people can benefit from the value you are sharing on that epic blog post, chances are there are thousands and even millions of other people who can benefit from it, as well.

We live in a world where billions of people are using the internet to search for specific information. When it comes to building an online business (through blogging) you have to think abundantly.

All you have to do is reach as many of these people as possible. Take massive consistent action to hit your visitors goal for each one of your new blog posts.

Don’t work on another new blog post until you hit your visitors goal for the last one.

It is possible for you to hit a ‘1,000 visitors’ goal for one blog post. It is not impossible. But if that’s too much, you can go a little lower (i.e. 500) – and build up from there.

There are many ways to promote all of your content (all of your blog posts) all over the internet. I’ll share a few methods by the end of this post.

I highly recommend you to invest in the right internet marketing education, if you really want to make things happen with your blog online.

You want to know exactly what you need to be doing on a daily / weekly basis to drive more traffic to your blog and blog posts.
Once you know exactly what you can do – you can then create your own Daily Action Plan and a Weekly Schedule to follow.

The process of building a profitable blog online is very simple. We can get started with something like this;

  • Set very clear Goals.
  • Learn the right Internet Marketing and Blogging knowledge.
  • Invest on your Education (in your niche).
  • Aim to become an Expert in your Niche.
  • Learn more about your Niche Audience.
  • Find the Problems and learn the Solutions.
  • Create your own Daily / Weekly Action Plan.
  • Create your own Weekly Schedule to follow.
  • Get as organized as possible with everything.
  • Start building a Subscriber’s List.
  • Take consistent action with what must be done and never stop moving forward towards your goals online.

Do you see how simple the initial steps would be?

It is not rocket science to understand how you can build a successful blog on the internet.

The information to make this happen is already all around you. All you have to do is add massive consistent action to the information and you can be earning a passive income from your blog.

Here is what you need to do

Set very clear goals that you would like to accomplish in 3+ months.

For instance, you might want to build your daily traffic count to about 500 visitors in 3 to 4 months.

It is possible to accomplish that goal in that period of time. Just set the goal, learn exactly what you must do to get there, and take consistent action.

You must know exactly what you need to do to accomplish your goals.

This is why it is very important that you invest on the right internet marketing and blogging education.

And, since you are going to be promoting a lot, and sharing a lot of content (for your niche audience); you also want to invest on the Education that will help you become an Expert in your niche.

If you want to make money from your blog, find out what the problems are in your niche, and then provide your niche audience with the solutions they are looking for.

Once you have all this data, and you know exactly how you will hit your goals in the next few months, it is time to put everything together.

Organize yourself and treat this as a Real Business.

Create your own Daily / Weekly Action plan and create your own Weekly Schedule that you can follow.

You need a lot of self-discipline to keep up with the necessary work you need to put in – in order to build a profitable blog online.

And, you are your own Boss and Employee, after all.

So, you must become the best Boss and the best Employee you can ever be.

I think this is another big mistake new bloggers make – they do not treat this as a real business, so they never really get paid as such.

There is one profound quote that I have learned from the successful bloggers online; “Treat your blog as a hobby and it will pay you like one. Treat your blog as a real business and it will pay you like one.”

Take this “blogging thing” very seriously.

Create your own schedule to follow – as if this was a real business (because it is).

That is what I do.

Google Calendar

I have my online schedule laid out on my Google Calendar. I like using the Google Calendar because I can access it anywhere at any time. I also have the app on my smartphone.

I also like using Google Docs.

I use the Google Sheets a lot. I organize everything and keep track of everything that I’m doing and need to do.

Google Sheets

As you can see, this is a simple way to keep organized and be able to follow a set schedule on a daily and weekly basis.

By doing this, it will help you stay productive and stay on course. If you don’t do this, you can expect to be all over the place and never really get things done.

You can see on my Google Calendar that I have ‘Marketing’ and ‘Social Media’ every single day. This is because I concentrate a lot on Traffic Generation Strategies.

It can take me from 1 hour to 4 hours to do a good amount of marketing and social media marketing. The amount of time I spend on each strategy varies from day to day.
I know exactly what I should do on a daily basis.

This is also a great way to help you build Productive Habits in your life. After a while, you will just know what you need to do and you will do it right away.

Currently, I’m publishing one new blog post on the first Monday of every month – and one new blog post on the Tuesday on the last week of the month.

This gives me plenty of time to focus on driving as much traffic as possible during the entire month.

The rest of my time online I spend it Guest Posting, Marketing, and growing my Social Media Accounts.

This is a simple 80/20 Rule being implemented.

80% of the time I’m driving more traffic to my blog and blog posts.

And 20% of the time I’m creating new, fresh, valuable, and EPIC, blog posts for my main internet marketing blog.

You also need to consider the level of Quality your blog’s content should have – in order to make your blog stand out from the crowded world of blogs online.

If you are creating new blog posts on a daily basis – chances are the quality of them is very low.

It takes time to put together an EPIC Blog Post that people will love and would want to share with others online.
You need to publish the type of content your Niche Audience will love and will want to share with others and even link back from their own blogs.

This is the type of content that can take your blog to the top – very fast.

This is why I wouldn’t recommend you to blog daily on your main blog. You might burn out after a while and the quality of your blog posts would not be very high.

Just take your time writing an epic blog post that you know will make an impact in your niche online – and market the heck out of it once published.

Here are a few internet marketing strategies that you can implement to drive traffic:

Wrapping it up

This is simple.
This is exactly how you will build a successful blog online by following one simple rule.

Promote a lot more than you create new blog posts for your main blog.

I encourage you to do this for a few months and see what type of results you can get.
